This article really nails the pitfalls of low-cost-only strategies. While being cheap can work short-term, it's risky long-term as bigger players can easily undercut you.
I agree that value-based pricing should be the ultimate goal - it allows for stronger customer relationships and sustainable growth. Competitor-based pricing essentially outsources your main revenue lever to rivals who have obvious incentives to stop you scaling.
True differentiation must go beyond price, which is crucial for long-term success in any market.
