Ah, working with hard single-stack developers was the default in my life as a mobile app product manager. Having iOS, Android and backend developers in a team is the norm and soft single-stack or full-stack developers are rare. When I started working with web products, full-stack people became more common. I agree with the points you mentioned about how to mitigate it, with the addition that this model

is more common in one area than in the other.

yes. I was thinking of including mobile as a special case but it was already getting long 😅

I have various opinions about things like React Native and how 90% of mobile apps just seem to be glorified web views, but that’s a thought for another day!

I have some thoughts about that, too 😅 Way too many native apps could easily be replaced by an actual mobile-first website. Companies invest a lot of money and energy into having native app developers when only a handful of apps need to be native to leverage specific capabilities. Cross-platform technologies or web apps could satisfy most business and user needs.
